Cement/ Concrete

HunterLab offers a selection of instruments to help you manage your concrete and cement color measurement and quality control requirements.

70% of our customers choose a directional 45°/0° geometry instrument as a QC tool for its ability to measure color the way the human eye sees colour, capturing both the effect of colour and the effect of gloss and texture. This is the geometry that is recommended by HunterLab for color measurement of opaque finished materials that will be viewed by the customer.

30% of our customers choose diffuse d/8° Sphere geometry for measuring colour for its tendency to negate surface appearance attributes of gloss and texture and look at colour only.

Hunterlab Solutions

Many of HunterLab’s spectrophotometers are versatile enough to accommodate most applications of color measurement. However, based on 60+ years of experience and a thorough understanding of our customers’ needs and product use, these particular instruments are most suited for this industries application.

NEW Aeros Smart noncontact spectrophotometer provides the unique ability to easily and accurately measure inconsistent, heavily textured, non-uniform samples.

40% of our customers prefer this instrument because of its compact design and integrated display, so does not require a PC and external software.

10% of our customers select the hand-held MiniScan EZ because it is rugged, lightweight and ergonomically designed and travels anywhere, from the lab to the production line, indoors or outdoors.

If you are unsure which instrument type is right for your samples, please call or email us for technical support and we will be happy to assist you in making the proper instrument selection.

Glass

Controlling the color of the architectural glass is extremely important to ensure the creative and artistic intent of the designer, and to minimize the high cost of replacing off color panels in a structure.

Measuring the color of the glass is achieved in two ways; a simple transmission color measurement tells us the color of the glass as viewed from the inside, and a reflectance measurement of the coated side tells us the color of the glass as seen from the outside. The reflectance color results can help to determine the thickness of AR and other coatings.

15% prefer the convenience of the portable and easy to use hand-held spectrophotometer that offers reflectance only measurements.

30% of our customers select this high-performance instrument for its extended wavelength measurement and its ability to measure both reflected and transmitted color.

Roofing

Roofing materials come in many forms, from traditional asphalt shingles to modern painted metal, from ceramic to formed clay and terracotta. Due to the wide variation of these materials and applications, HunterLab offers several choices of color measurement instrumentation, for both laboratory use and online in the production environment.
